
Colorado state law allows associations such as CMCA to offer
group
health care plans to members providing certain conditions are met.
We now offer two competing plans for your selection.
The Mercer plan also can be applied to owner-operators, lease drivers, and other contractors providing they are members of CMCA. To accomplish that we are offering a "limited access" membership. Check the side box for further details on the LA membership option.
You can become a limited access (LA) CMCA member if you are a owner-operator, lease driver, or contractor. LA membership is $55 per year and provides legal access to the Mercer health care plan described on this page. LA members may also obtain CMCA member discounts on seminars, forms, and other services. The "limitation" is that LA members may not vote in CMCA functions. Of course small contract carriers can always apply for full CMCA membership. Contact CMCA by phone to discuss this further.

Mercer offers a full spectrum of health care options that can be customized to your needs and finances. Insurance carriers within the Mercer plans include: Golden Rule, Celtic Life, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
The Mercer plans can work for owner-operators and contract drivers who become limited-access members of CMCA.
There are 6-different health care options starting with a full comprehensive major medical plan for individuals. This plan requires evidence of insurability by answering certain health-related questions.
Special plans are available for those who cannot qualify for comprehensive coverage due to an existing medical condition. High-Risk plans may also be available. Check with Mercer.
Mercer also offers Hospital Indemnity Insurance which covers first hospital admission, emergency accident coverage, first occurrence benefits, surgical, anesthesia and other benefits, outpatient sickness, and hospital confinement.
A Rx/Discount Health Card is included in the Mercer offerings. Dental insurance is also available within the Mercer program.
Plans may be customized for employee only, employee and spouse, employee & children or employee and family.
