SMC Minutes - June 2008

Safety Management Council Minutes
June 5, 2008

Chairman Carl Salazar called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m.

Carl asked for and received self introductions.

The April minutes were approved as mailed, and the Financial Report was read and approved.

Keynote Speaker
Today’s speaker was Max Haynes from Ergo Med.  Max discussed ways in which companies can control costs associated with worker injuries and work comp claims.  Physicals which include range of motion pre-screening can establish baselines for your employees.  Further injuries then can be compared against those baselines.

Cpt. Mark Savage also discussed the Democratic National Convention, and how it will impact trucking through the Denver region.  He will keep us posted.

In addition, Carl Salazar reviewed the Roadeo and thanked all the volunteers, donors and drivers.  Review comments are0 necessary, so anyone with comments please contact Carl or Patti.

Council Reports
